Edinburgh Global Research Scholarships

Brief description:
An Edinburgh Global Research Scholarship is a grant covering the difference between home and overseas PhD fees. New overseas applicants are eligible, and the award covers the full 3 years of fees.

The scheme is highly competitive. as only 30 slot is available for phD Research Programe in any field of study offered by the university, Candidates are ranked at School level, and selected at College level, on the basis of their scholarship application and the two references submitted with their PhD application.

Scholarship value/duration:
Each scholarship covers the difference between the tuition fee for a UK/ EU graduate student and that chargeable to an overseas graduate student. The awards do not cover maintenance expenses.
Subject to satisfactory progress, the awards are tenable for up to three years.

Eligibility:
Applicants must be liable to pay tuition fees at the rate applicable to overseas students and must have already applied for admission to a full-time PhD research programme of study.

To apply for a scholarship, you must first apply for admission for a PhD programme at the University of Edinburgh. Eligible applicants should complete an online scholarship application by 1 February yearly. Please note you will not be able to access the online application form unless you have applied for admission.
